Medical Physicist

Medical Physicists work in radiation oncology departments, assisting radiation oncologists and other medical professionals in planning and delivering radiation therapy treatments. Their primary responsibilities include creating treatment plans, calculating radiation doses, and assisting with radiation therapy procedures. Medical Physicists typically require a Doctoral degree in Medical Physics and a current certification. They must also have experience in radiation oncology settings.

General Requirements

Medical physicists typically have a Ph.D. in medical physics or a related field, and they must be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
